Golden Monkey is an independent consulting and corporate services practice. We work with founders, executives and boards on decisions about where and how their businesses should operate — and then carry out the formation, structuring and compliance work those decisions require.

Most firms sit on one side of that line. Advisers produce a recommendation and hand it over; corporate service providers execute instructions without questioning whether the instruction was right. The gap between the two is where cost, delay and avoidable risk accumulate. We deliberately operate across it.

How we work

Engagements are led by the person who performs the analysis. There is no layer of junior staff between you and the adviser, and no templated deliverable standing in for a considered view. Scope, cost and timeline are agreed in writing before work begins.

We take a limited number of engagements at a time. Where a matter falls outside our areas of practice, or would be better handled internally or by a specialist, we say so at the outset rather than after a retainer has been signed.

What you can expect

A written recommendation that sets out the options, the evidence behind each, the obligations that follow, and the conditions under which we would revise our view. Where the honest answer is that a plan will not work, that is the answer you will receive.

Our name

The golden monkey is a figure of discernment across several traditions — the discipline of knowing what to look at, what to listen to, and what is worth saying. It is a reasonable description of advisory work done properly.
